Urban Sketching Sketchbook

Japan Travels

This sketchbook is one I have invested a lot of time in up until now. I have bound it myself and at first used it mostly for fantasy landscapes and plant art. Later I also started including travel sketches from Japan and a lot of urban sketching. Urban sketching is something I really got interested in during my language exchange trip to Japan.

Drawing in public has always been something I was not very confident in, so the time I spent here really helped me get out of my comfort-zone and into the habit of constantly drawing. Additionally it was alo great practice for feeling comfortable in a general public setting, which was something that I have been struggling with for a long time.

Urban Sketchers Dortmund

A while later I also stumbled across the urban sketching movement inside the city I lived in a the time. The highlights during my time with the urban sketchers in Dortmund include drawing some very interesting buildings and churches, as well as an exhibition at the museum of architeture alongside my first Vernissage.
